Thank you for an article that is prompting me to put together a hypothetical argument regarding gun control. I'll get back to you on this. Great article, BTW.

About that Gun Control Thingy

Although we know the true motive behind gun confiscation (aka gun control), most folks have no logical understanding of the issue. The simple fact is that people in positions of power do not want to be dethroned, and they fear anyone who is able to do so. Their fear is people – not the gun. Eliminate the gun and the people will find an alternate weapon; but the gun is the more effective choice. It is so effective that the leaders use them for their own protection. Even if they do not possess a gun themselves, they hire someone who does. And they have armed enforcers to do their bidding. No, they do not fear the gun.

Every argument, every lawsuit directed against the gun is a charade designed to misrepresent the true motives behind totalitarian objections to gun ownership. Self-defense by whatever means is a natural right unconnected to permission. Whether it is exercised with fists, a rock or club, a knife or gun, preservation of life is a natural right. That same right of survival applies when defending against tyrannical rule. That is where the gun plays an important role. Take the guns away from the citizens and an oppressive government will have free reign.

We know the government has been trying to eliminate gun ownership. Since 1935 a number of laws and subsequent challenges to those laws have dealt with the right to bear arms. The right to bear arms, known as the second amendment to the constitution and aptly designated as one of the ten points of the bill of rights, was ratified in 1791. The express purpose of this amendment was to ensure that the people would have the ability to dismantle a dictatorial government within America. That amendment has always been a thorn in the side of government. They understand its meaning and have been desperate to abolish it and the citizen’s right that it protects.

The game plan is always centered on protecting the people and, more recently, the children. It is only in the context of gun usage that they consider the welfare of children. Otherwise, it is permissible and encouraged to abort them and sell their body parts. It is permissible to regender them by mutilating their bodies. It is permissible to have perverted sex with them and teach them to hate themselves. It is permissible to pump drugs into them and allow them to run amuck and kill each other. But let a gun be involved in an opportune shooting and all hell breaks loose. That is the time to go after the gun as it plays into their agenda to disarm the public.

The leaders and elitists do not care about the people over whom they rule. They never have since the Stone Age. The people are only allowed to exist in service to the elite. I understand the grief that follows the loss of a loved one. I do not understand the misguided notion that the gun is the problem. It is unfortunate that leaders seize upon the opportunity to use certain mass shootings to garner support from grief stricken folks in order to ban guns when it is the perpetrators who wreak havoc. But that’s how the psychopathic mind works. Whatever suits their agenda is fair game.

Meanwhile, the law abiding citizen waits patiently in the wings while criminals kill with impunity. Barring an unpredictable turn of events regarding whether a new gun law can pass in the wake of Buffalo’s and Uvalde’s carnage, the government will have to devise another plan to satisfy their agenda. And that brings us to the various plans in their arsenal of tricks.

A popular phrase that is often posted on the side of a police car states, “To Protect and To Serve.” Where was the protect and serve in Uvalde, Parkland and various others? If your house was on fire and your child was in a part of the house that required you to pass through the fire to save him, would you do it? The parents in Uvalde were ready to go in unarmed to save their children and were held back by law enforcement refusing to do their job. With or without a gun, the parents would risk their lives. Survival necessitates having the means and the desire to survive. This is one good reason to own firearms and not just one type – any type. You! You are your first responder. Not the police. Not the fire department. Not EMS. And certainly not the government.

Who says you can’t protect your life, your property, your loved ones, your neighbor? Who? Does this tell you anything about the folks who dictate the way you should live – or die? Have you seen enough over the last two and a half years to reach the conclusion that they want you dead? Or, have they successfully conditioned you to accept that you are worthless and expendable? What will you do when they unleash the dogs of war on us; because that is in their play book?

No, it’s not the gun they fear. It’s the people who can topple them from their pedestals. If it were the gun they wouldn’t have them for themselves. They wouldn’t surround themselves with armed guards and barbed wire. Never fear the gun. Fear the person behind it. That is your enemy.

You put a lot of elbow grease in on this one John. Very sensitive subject for a lot of folks, and an important one, as we all examine the long-term hypotheticals and potential consequences of certain actions and behaviors. There are good-hearted people out there who almost certainly feel differently, of course. The challenge as always is finding common ground on issues where there's common ground to be found. Not sure there's much common ground left to be had on the 2nd.

It is the good-hearted people that are most difficult to reach. Idiots can be ignored. But the good are often too busy being good; and I don't mean that as a slam. Heck, I've got a bunch of them in my own family. And, I haven't a clue how to talk to them.
