Kinney County Defense Forces?
News Possibly Breaking on Facebook
One hour ago, an associate in Del Rio, Frank Lopez, Jr. was live on Facebook and possibly also youtube, saying he’s received confirmation that something called the “Kinney County Defense Forces” are forming under the aegis of County Sheriff Brad Coe.
This has not been confirmed— but one must confess it doesn’t sound unlikely.
Messages have been sent to Kinney County leadership for verification, but so far we have heard nothing. We will be busy the rest of the day, attempting to get that verification.
My impression, after watching Mr. Lopez’s video is that he is probably accurate in the broad strokes of things, but certain fine details may be incorrect.

Another update. It appears Mr. Lopez may have taken the video down, as our link now seems to be broken. Still nothing official from official sources here in Kinney County as of yet.
Am told that the Sheriff will be giving some form of a statement on the KCSO Facebook page. Am presently squatting on top of it, and pounding the refresh button, folks. Will post something here with links, after we've had a moment to digest it. My personal take so far is: Mr. Lopez may be the victim of a game of "telephone."
