Government Contractor Identified
Theophilus Government Solutions Hired to Provide Meals During Humanitarian Crisis
Solid reporting from associates at Del Rio’s 830 Times, identifying a U.S. Government Contractor that’s providing meals to groups of illegal aliens and migrants all up and down the border.
Theophilus Government Solutions is a U.S. Government Contractor, working to provide three meals a day to each one of the mostly Haitian aliens still camped out under the bridge.
It’s a good piece, worth the read. For those unfamiliar, the 830 Times sprang up in the wake of the closure of the “Del Rio News Herald,” which covered the news of the day in Del Rio and surrounding areas for many years. Like everyone else around these parts, they’re doing their best to keep on top of what’s going on.
Just in case you’re wondering, Theophilus is a biblical name— and is the name or title of the person to whom the Book of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles is addressed to. It was also a common name and title amongst the learned Romans and Jews of the time.
Contractors like these are nothing nefarious, it’s part of the process of creating an infrastructure where none exists. If the Government were to try and set up its own meal pipeline, the laws regarding procurement, bidding, and other matters would see the whole process grind to a seeming halt well before any meaningful help could arrive in an immediate crisis.
Instead, the Government will rely on independent organizations that can more nimbly move from place to place, hiring and renting what they need to execute their contracts. Because their contracts are with the U.S. Government, they’re frequently able to turn to banks and receive whatever loans they need to start up and get to work. The U.S. Government contract makes them essentially safer than houses as an investment, as far as the bank is concerned.
As the 830 Times reports, the workers at Theophilus Government Solutions have to make certain the food is kept at a safe temperature, and that the “packet” each alien receives contains nothing that can be used as a weapon. That means no bones, cutlery, and other potentially dangerous objects.
The 830 Times also reports that the contractor receives all of its food items from delivery trucks and suppliers and has nothing to do with bare store shelves shown on social media.
This is almost certainly true. It should be noted the photos of bare shelves are from the 17th. One strongly suspects that the contractor may not’ve been engaged until later, and the shelves were more than likely stripped by other faith-based organizations that were standing in the gap, until a more long-term solution could be found and put into place.
I wondered who those folks were.
Glad to learn they were simply doing humanitarian work with no agenda, and also that had nothing to do with our bare shelves.
