2000 Asylum Seeking Aliens Camping Beneath Del Rio's International Bridge
Most Coming from Haiti
A big story breaking today, first published by Breitbart Texas, but later confirmed by individuals in Del Rio, and also a South Texas based reporter for the Epoch Times, finds almost 2000 asylum seeking aliens sheltering beneath the bridge coming over to Del Rio from Ciudad Acuña.
Most of the group are from Haiti, and can be seen in this image taken from video shot by Charlotte Cuthbertson and put out on her twitter account. Most of the aliens are under the bridge itself, and not visible to her camera.
In addition to the Haitians, other immigrants present are said to be from Venezuela and Cuba. Because this mass does not appear to be trespassing, they will likely all be turned over and processed by the U.S. Border Patrol. Most will probably attempt to claim asylum, and a large percentage will be released to travel into the interior of the U.S. after promising to show up for their asylum hearing at a later date. Some will show, some will not.
According to reporting by Breitbart.com, Mexican Cartels do not keep as heavy a hand in Ciudad Acuna, as they do in other border areas, making it seem a safer place for certain illegals to cross the border.
Acuna is reportedly controlled by the Cartel del Noreste, a faction of Los Zetas.
Illegal immigration by Haitians trying to get into the Dominican Republic, their neighbor on the island of Hispaniola, in the Caribbean, is creating a lot of strife. The standard of living in the Dominican Republic is much higher. The government there is reportedly constructing a wall between the two nations.
Meanwhile, the Mexican government is continuing to try and stop Haitian migrants from forming caravans in the state of Tapachula, recently sending 14,000 troops to the state which borders Guatemala.
